Sherry L. Fladebo, 85, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Sumner Place Nursing Home in Lincoln, NE.
Sherry was born on June 10, 1941, to Elwood Roy “Hap” Turner and Ella Allen Turner.
Sherry was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrell J. Fladebo; father, Elwood Roy “Hap” Turner; and mother, Ella Allen Turner.
She is survived by brother, Larry (Dorothy) Turner of Las Vegas, NV, along with their daughters and their families.
A very special part of Sherry’s life was the close bond she shared with the Vavra family. What began as a babysitting job grew into a lifelong connection filled with love, friendship, and family. As Sherry cared for the Hand and Young children, she became much more than a babysitter; she became a cherished member of their family.
Following the unexpected loss of her husband, Darrell, the Vavra family became an especially important part of Sherry’s life. They welcomed her into their hearts and home, surrounding her with the love and sense of belonging that family provides. The special bond she shared with the Vavra family and the Hand and Young children was a blessing that remained close to her heart. Sherry will be lovingly remembered by her family, the Vavra family, the Hand and Young children, and all those whose lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the memories she leaves behind will forever be treasured.
A family graveside service and burial was held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine on Friday, October 23, 2026, with Fr. Antony Thekkekara officiating.
