Myrtle (Doering/Dunse) Collins, 96 years of age, passed away August 27, 2026 at Sandhills Care Center in Ainsworth, NE. Myrtle was born February 9, 1930 to Howard and Amy (Casey) Doering of rural LaValle, WI.

Timothy G. Daugherty, 67 of Kearney, passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 28, 2026 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2026 at O’Brien Straat-mann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney.

Kathleen Belle Kerr Brown was born March 25, 1950, to William and Mary Kerr at the Sandhills General Hospital in Valentine, NE. She was later joined by one sibling, Peggy. She grew up in the country and attended Valentine High School. After graduating, she worked at the Cherry County Clerk’s Office until she joined the Bank of Valentine as a proof entry operator.

Kurt Athony Sinkler 12/21/1968-08/03/2026 Kurt Sinkler was born in Lincoln, NE at Bryan Memorial Hospital on December 21,1968. He passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 57 at his home in Kilgore; a memorial will be held on Saturday August 15,2026 @ 1:00 p.m., at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines. The burial will take place at a later date at his home in Kilgore, NE.

Earl Walter Shelbourn Jr., known simply as “Junior,” passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, at Cherry County Hospital in Valentine, Nebraska. He was 78 years old.

Sara Irene Tinant of the Lakeview area was born in Valentine, Nebraska on September 4,1956 to Bob and Geraldine (Hutchison) Tinant. She died on July 16, 2026 at the Cherry County Hospital.

Donna Rae Goodwin went onto heaven on June 15, 2026. Donna, born to Marjorie and Eldon King on July 17, 1955, in Madison County, MT, was a woman of strength until the very end of her life on earth. Her life, marked by hard work, perseverance and 51-year, 348-day marriage to the love of her life, will be remembered by many. She graduated from Cody-Kilgore High School in 1973 and went to college throughout her adult life, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing along with two Masters Degrees. Donna was best known in the world of nursing, first becoming a nurse’s aide, then a Registered Nurse and then working her way into administration and organizational development.

Continued from page 2 Glen Huddle passed away on June 29, 2026, in Yankton, SD at the age of 97. Glen was born at home in Millboro, SD on October 27, 1928, and grew up on a cattle ranch in South Central South Dakota homesteaded by his father in 1925.
