Darrel Leroy “Lee” Kramer, 78, of Valentine, passed away at Bryan East in Lincoln June 23, 2024. A graveside memorial service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine July 3, at 11:00 a.m., with lunch and celebration of life to follow at the Veterans Club.

George Allen Allard was born September 17, 1951, to Donald and Ruth (Overman) Allard in Valentine. He was the third sibling with two brothers and two sisters. He attended grade school in Crookston, and graduated from Valentine High School in 1969. He worked for the Texaco gas station and for his family at their bar in Crookston during high school.

Robert D. (Bob) Frederick of White River, SD, formerly of Grand Island, passed away Sunday June 2, 2024, in White River, SD.

Starla Sherman- Jackson age 55 of Arnold, passed away June 2, 2024, at her home in Arnold. Regina E. (Roggasch) Brockley was born November 19, 1937, at home on the family ranch in Rose, to Arthur and Mary (Dunne) Roggasch. Gina was the third of five children. Gina joined her husband, Ross, in heaven Monday, June 3, 2024, at Bickford Cottage in Lincoln with her family at her side.

We mourn the passing of Jan Charlton, 99, who died peacefully Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Born Janet Louise Amick on November 28, 1924, in Loup City, she is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Carl Amick and Emily (Wanek) Amick, siblings Ellen (Amick) Charlton, and Dr. Frank Amick.

Margie Eileen Waltke, 93, of Valentine, formerly of Beatrice, died Friday, May 24, 2024 at her daughter’s home. She was born April 9, 1931 at Gothenburg and baptized in Gothenburg. Margie attended country school and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell. She married Ernest Waltke February 4, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church; they lived and farmed in the Adams area as well as south of Beatrice.

Celebration of life for Linda Ford, age 81 of Cody, will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. MST at the Merriman Community Building in Merriman. Linda passed away March 20 at her home in Cody. The inurnment will be held at a later date.

Family memorial service for Robert E. “Bob” Bobek, 90 of Valentine formerly of Pierce, will take place at a later date in Valentine. Bob died on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Stanton Health Center in Stanton. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Bob was born February 27, 1934 in Pierce, to William and Mildred Bobek. He had one older brother, Billy Bobek.

William Vincent Stroup (known as Bill), eldest child of Claude Vincent and Margaret Mary (Donovan) Stroup, was born October 29, 1946 in Norton, KS. When Bill was a young boy, the family moved to Spalding, where he grew up with many people who were to become life-long friends. Bill graduated from Spalding Academy in 1965 and then joined the Army in 1966.
