James Dale Pahlke was called home to be with his Lord on December 5, 2023, from his home in Boynton Beach, FL. He was born May 12, 1973 in Winner, SD to Dale and Linda Pahlke.

Taylor Kyle Lafferty was born on February 5, 2009 in Valentine to Cheyenne Weston and Craig Lafferty. Taylor made his journey to the Spirit World on November 28, 2023 at Hidden Timber, Mission, SD.

Quincy Delano Skinner, 88, of Merriman, passed away Monday, November 20 at his home on the ranch. He was born July 5, 1935 to Byron V. and Pearle J. (Beyersdorf) Skinner in Gordon. He grew up seven miles west of Merriman with his parents and siblings, Junie and Jerry. A very special person in his life while growing up was his Pa, Paul H. Beyersdorf.

Lawrence Thomas Johnson was born October 5, 1938, in Ainsworth, the third child of Margaret Jane and John Lyle Johnson. His grade school years were spent in Burwell, Minden, Cozad, Broken Bow, and finally rural Cherry County. When the family moved to the Mission Ranch north of Kilgore, Larry attended the Sunshine School for 7th and 8th grade. He went to O’Neill St. Mary’s for High School where he made life-long friends that still kept in contact with him until his death. He was a member of the football team, track team, choir, and drama. He graduated in 1956. He attended Chadron State College from 19571960 where he participated in choir and drama, and took classes in art, woodworking, and drafting, among others.

Delores Holmes, 94, of Winner, SD passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Winner Regional Health Care Center in Winner, SD. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Winner Methodist Church in Winner, SD. Burial followed in the Winner City Cemetery.

Cheri Elizabeth (McMurtrey) Woodson, or Cheribeth, was born on April 26, 1947, to John and Kathryn (Herrington) Mc Mur trey in Valentine. She passed away November 15, 2023, at the age of 76, while living at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.

Marylyn Joyce (Sheets) Ohlmann was born October 2, 1936 and retured to the loving arms of Jesus November 7, 2023. Marylyn’s life reflected the love of her faith, family, friends, art, and animals.

Martin Louis Jones was born on March 19, 1935 at home in Mission, SD to Lawrence “LE” and Florence (Knittel) Jones. Martin was the third of four children: Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Kalblinger, Loretta Hopkins, and Larry Jones.

Ternie Carroll (Caulfield) Wright, age 75, of Broken Bow, passed away at Bergan Mercy Hospital of Omaha, November 9, 2023. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow, with Rev. Becky Dobitsch officiating. Burial followed at the Broken Bow Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church and Healing Hearts and Families. Govier Brothers Mortuary were in charge of arrangements. An online guest book may be signed at www.govierbrothers.com Ternie Wright was born April 21, 1948, to James and Betty Caulfield in Valentine. She attended school in Winner, SD, and graduated high school from Oconto in 1966.

Kathryn Darlene (Starkjohann) Ross, 85, of Valentine, passed away November 6, 2023 at her ranch home near Sparks. Kathryn was born April 3, 1938 at Brown County Hospital in Ainsworth, to Fred and Esther Starkjohann.
