Cowboys win over Broncos 60-14

Cody-Kilgore won the game Friday, September 17, 2021 with a score of 60-14 Scoring by quarters: Cody-Kilgore - 20, 20, 14, 6 = 60 Stuart - 0, 7, 0, 7 = 14 There were 53 passing yards led by Cooper Fay with 32, followed by Tristan Fish with 15. There was a total of 377 rushing yards with Cactus Millar leading with 206, followed by Peyton Sterkel with 80, and Jacob Knox with 54.

Badgers host Chase County, lost with safety

Friday, September 24, 2021, the Badgers hosted Chase County and came away with a tie, 6-6. Scoring by quarters: Valentine - 0, 0, 6, 0 = 6 Chase Co.

BADGER OF THE WEEK

Gunnar Battershaw. Gunnar had 8 total tackles on Friday night including 3 tackles for loss with 2 of them being sacks. Gunnar is a great teammate that is willing to put in extra work to make himself better on and off the field.

SCHOLAR OF THE WEEK

Chris is always actively participating in World Geography by answering questions and engaging in the lessons. He not only gets his work done in class but is always willing to help others who are struggling with work. Chris has a great attitude and is someone you want to be around because of his willingness to help others.

Blazing through the Ages Theme for 2021 VHS Homecoming

2021 Homecoming is off to a great start with the theme Blazing through the Ages. Classes have decorated business windows to kick off Homecoming week. The parade will be held on Main Street Friday, October 1, 2021, at 2:30 p.m.; it will go from 1st and Main Street to the VHS football field.

Four XC runners qualified for UNK meet in Kearney

Thursday, September 23, 2021, the Cross Country team traveled to Gordon and ran on Rushville’s Sand Ridge Golf Course. Coach Tammy Gass said, “We have run in Gordon, but this year the course was new. We have four runners who went to the UNK meet in Kearney on Monday, September 27. Grant Springer, Tyson Welch, Lex Larsen, and MaKenzie Long.”

Badgers win their Invitational

The Lady Badgers held their Invitational September 21, 2021 at Frederick Peak and won with a 394. Individually four girls tied for first place with 93 and had a sudden death playoff on holes 1 and 2 where Olivia Jarman of O’Neill won.

Nebraska State Fair Cherry County 4-H Static Exhibit results

Live Competition Results from Nebraska State Fair The Nebraska State Fair feature 4-H competitions the weekend of August 28-29 in Grand Island, NE. Audrey Brawner competed in the Swine Show and received a blue on her market gilt and a blue in Senior Swine Showmanship.

The Valentine Cross Country Team traveled to O’Neill Friday, September 17, 2021. The results of the Boys 2000 yard run for junior high are as follows: Second place, Isaac Cronin, 5:52.90; fourth place, Deklin Titus, 6;09.30; 15th place, Austin Harp, 7:02.10; 23rd place, Tanner Two Strike, 7:18.30; 38th place, Allen Ward, 8:15.30.
