Ainsworth Invite results for CK

Rachel Farley ran the 60 meter hurdles and tripped... resulting in 13th and no medal. Then she took on the 300 meter hurdles for the first time and did excellent! She ran them in 55.77 and received the sixth place medal. Coaches are looking forward to watching Rachel compete and get better at 300 meter hurdles.

Bassett Invite results for Cody-Kilgore

The highlight of the day came when CK freshman Aubryanna Schmit broke the previous CK girls shot put record of 35’ 5” set by Urte Noreikaite, an exchange student from Lithuania that spent the year at CK in 2023. Schmit’s toss of 36’ 10.5” broke the previous record, though Noreikaite still holds the CK discus record of 126’ 9” also set in 2023.

CK results of the Sandhills Invite

Cody-Kilgore participated in the Sandhills Invite, April 8. Individual boys results are as follows: 800 Meter Run - 21st place, Tylan Blume, 2:56.46, SR.

Badgers bring home Runner-up Trophy from O’Neill Invite!

The Valentine Badgers competed at O’Neill, Thursday, April 7, 2025. Individual boys results are as follows: 100 Meter Dash - first place, Dominic Beebout, 11.81; sixth place, Trystan Beebout, 12.14; seventh place, Lane Shelbourn, 12.15.

Sandhills Invite Results

The Badgers did exceedingly well at the Sandhills Invite, held April 8, 2025, at Rock County High School. The boys and girls teams each earned first place.

CK Speech finishes as runners up!

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the CK speech team finished as D2-4 Runners-up in Stuart, NE. CK junior, Kynzee McConaughey headlined the Cody-Kilgore outstanding oratorical efforts by winning the district title in Informative Public Speaking, and finishing third in Persuasive Public Speaking. Both efforts punched McConaughey’s ticket to the NSAA State Speech Championships in Kearney which were held March 28, 2025.

Mr. Hustle recipient

Mr. Hustle is an award voted on by the coaches of the teams that participate in the Round Ball basketball tournament held in Valentine and is open to all players.

VHS Track begins season with meet in Ainsworth

Friday, March 28, 2025, the Badger Track Tea, traveled to East City Park in Ainsworth for their invitational. The boys placed fourth with 55 points out of eight teams.

Dominating the Court: Round Ball Champions

The sixth grade Badger team secured the top spot in their division at the Round Ball tournament, held March 1, 2025. Six teams from across the region gathered at Valentine Middle School to compete in the annual event. The morning pool play determined the bracket seeding for the single-elimination tournament in the afternoon.
