Results from the Gothenburg Invite

The Lady Badgers traveled to Gothenburg, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 and placed sixth out of 12 schools. “By the end of the day the wind was blowing up to 30 mph,” said Coach Devin Muirhead.

Lady Badgers earn first place at North Platte

The Lady Badgers traveled to North Platte Monday, September 16, 2024 and came home with a first place plaque out of six teams. The team shot 431 and also brought home four medals.

Theme for VHS Homecoming

The 2024 Homecoming week is quickly approaching and the Badgers are on the Prowl for Victories! Homecoming week will kick off Saturday, September 28, with painting business windows on Main Street. Sunday, September 29, the Badger Boosters will host their annual powder puff games and pep rally starting at 3:00 p.m., with volleyball games, powder puff football, and a pep rally to follow at the field.

Badger XC team competes at Broken Bow

Saturday, September 14, 2024, the Badger cross country teams traveled to Broken Bow where they competed on the Broken Bow Country Club course. The boys varsity team results - 30th place, Isaac Utecht, 20:00.15; 32nd place, Deklin Titus, 20:03.61; 36th place, Devlin Welch, 20:21.19; 53rd place, Tanner Two Strike, 21:50.84; 68th place, Landen Mooney, 22:58.46; 80th place, Duncan Mosner, 24:02.14; 82nd place, Boone Jespersen, 24:10.43; 90th place, Jackson Huggins, 25:22.52.

The Lady Badgers traveled to O’Neill Tuesday, September 10, 2024, where they played the West Holt Huskies and lost in two sets. Scoring: Valentine - 7, 9 = 0 West Holt - 25, 25 = 2 In the next game against the O’Neill Huskies, the Lady Badgers lost in two sets. Scoring: Valentine - 19, 13 = 0 O’Neill - 25, 25 = 2 There were 8 kills in the game with Aiden Hand having 3; Annalena Nelson and Cadence swanson each with 2; Danika Janssen, 1. Kimber McGinley led in Ace serves with 2; Cadence Swanson, Aiden Hand, and Olena Felton each with 1. There were 22 digs in the game and Kimber McGinley with 8; Danika Janssen, 6; Cadence Swanson, 5; Tygh Miller, 3. The team traveled to Cozad Saturday, September 14 where they played Ainsworth, and came up short. Scoring: Valentine - 15, 14 = 0 Ainsworth - 25, 25 = 2 Stats weren’t available as of press time. The Lady Badgers will travel to McCook, Saturday, September 21.

Badger FB brings home the win!

The Badger football team dominated on the Gibbon field and came away with a 22-6 victory, Friday, September 13, 2024. Scoring by quarters: Valentine - 8, 12, 0, 2 = 22 Gibbon - 0, 0, 6, 0 = 6 In the first quarter, Parker Chavez had a one yard TD run and good two point conversion putting the first numbers on the scoreboard 8-0.

Secretary of State certifies pair of medical cannabis petitions for November ballot

The Secretary of State’s Elections Division certified that signature requirements have been met for the Nebraska Medical Cannabis Patient Protection initiative petition and the Nebraska Medical Cannabis Regulation initiative petition for the November 5, general election ballot. County election offices completed signature verification within the 40-day period as required in Nebraska Revised Statute § 32-1409.

Lady Badgers place fifth at Chadron Invite

Tuesday, September 10, 2024 the Lady Badgers varsity and JV teams traveled to Chadron. The varsity team placed fifth out of six teams with 447. Chadron was in first place with 373; Scottsbluff, 393; Sidney, 406; Gering, 443; Valentine, 447; Alliance, 466.
