XC season began at Frederick Peak

The Badgers Cross Country team held their second annual invite at Frederick Peak Thursday, August 29, 2024. Varsity boys results are as follows: fourth place, Isaac Utecht, 20:46; sixth place, Devlin Welch, 21:03; ninth place, Deklin Titus, 22:04; 14th place, Tanner Two Strike, 23:42; 20th place, Duncan Mosner, 24:31.

Memorial run raises $10K for Smith Falls trails

The Tyler Vanderheiden Memorial Run, an annual race aimed at raising awareness and understanding of mental health, raised $10,000 for Nebraska Game and Parks state park trails in 2024. To date, supporters of the Vanderheiden Memorial run have contributed more than $30,000 to the Nebraska Game and Parks Foundation to support trails.

Nebraska High School Rodeo at Nebraska State Fair!

Valentine and Kilgore youth competed at the rodeo in Grand Island at the Nebraska State Fair, Monday, September 2, 2024. The results are as follows: All Around Cowboy - ninth place, Colter Austin of Valentine, 12.740 Team Roping - ninth place, Tyler McCauley and Sutton Schrunk of Valentine, 17.5; Emerson Mc-Intyre and Cash Cooper of Kilgore, 18.710.

Thursday, August 29, 2024, the Badgers lost in three sets against Bennett County 3-0. Saturday, August 31, the team played at Minden where they lost to Minden in two sets.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) is currently accepting nomination packets for nomination to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, NY, U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT.

Badgers season opener against O’Neill 20-28

Friday, August 30, the Badgers began their regular football season against O’Neill at O’Neill. They lost with a score of 20-28 Scoring by quarters: Valentine - 8, 6, 0, 6 = 20 O’Neill - 7, 7, 14, 0 = 28 The first TD of the season beolonged to the Badgers with a four yard pass, and two point conversion. O’Neill would answer that with a 29 yard TD pass and good PAT for an 8-7 Badger lead.

Badgers bested by Chadron

The score says a lot. It was a tough game against the Chadron Eagles who won with a score of 43-6.

Cowboys bested by Garden County Eagles

The Cowboys lost to the Garden County Eagles with a score of 6-44. Scoring by quarters: Cody-Kilgore - 6, 0, 0, 0 = 6 Garden County - 6, 30, 8, 0 = 44 Stats for the game were not available as of press time.

Broncos stampede in Cherry County

The Cody-Kilgore Cowboys kicked off the 2024 season Friday, August 30, at Cody Athletic Park, when the Stuart Broncos stampeded into western Cherry County. The contest featured a six-man top-10 tilt with the No. 4 rated Broncos against the No. 8 rated Cowboys.

Lady Badger results over Winner

The Lady Badgers have a 0-5 record on the year so far. Thursday, September 5, they traveled to Winner and lost in three sets.
