The 74th annual Father-Son Dinner was a tremendous success with 93 fathers, sons, neighbors, brothers and friends filling the Presbyterian Church’s Fellowship Hall. They enjoyed a delicious traditional Turkey Dinner Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

They knew the record-breaking attendance number before the rest of the world. The iconic attendance number that hovered over the northeast corner of Memorial Stadium on the night of August 30 was the work of Fantasy Drone Shows, a Norfolkbased aerial entertainment company.

The Lady Badgers hosted Todd County, Tuesday, October 10 and won in three sets. Valentine - 25, 25, 25 = 3 Todd County - 15, 23, 20 = 0 Kinsey Buechle led in kills with 13; Finley Mosner, 6; Arianna Blume, 4; Savannah Fullerton, 3; Benson Aubrey and Kimber McGinley each with 2.

The D3 District Cross Country championship meet was held in Ainsworth, Wednesday, October 11, 2023. The conditions had temeratures in the mid 60s with east winds 10-15 mph.

The NSAA State Tournament for girls golf was held at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte. The tournament was held over two days. Monday and Tuesday, October 9-10 the girls played 18 holes each day.

The Badgers traveled to Mitchell Friday, October 13, and lost with a score of 6-51. Scoring by quarters: Valentine - 0, 0, 0, 6 = 6 Mitchell - 21, 21, 9, 0 = 51 It was Mitchell all the way until the fourth quarter when a one yard TD was had by the Badgers with a failed two-point conversion.

The 8th annual Trick or Trot 5K and Scary Scurry 1-Mile Run and Walk took place Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Cooler temperatures didn’t hinder a record number of 32 participants from attending.
