Third quarter Badger Effort Awards

Council hears presentation on drug K9

The Valentine City Council met for their regular meeting, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the City Library meeting room. Mid Nebraska Activities All Conference Basketball

Colby Cady of Cody-Kilgore was named Honorable Mention for Mid Nebraska Activities Conference All Conference Girls Basketball and Peyton Sterkel was named Honorable Mention for Mid Nebraska Activities Conference All Conference Boys Basketball.

Running with the Bulls results

On the day of Bull Bash, the 9th Annual Running with the Bulls 5K Fun Run/Walk was held. There were 40 participants that morning for a windy, cold race.

2022 Nebraska Fish Art Contest open for entries

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade can discover the outdoors by participating in the third annual Nebraska Fish Art Contest. This international art and writing competition gives young people the opportunity to highlight their artistic talents while learning about fish, fishing and aquatic conservation.

Trout stockings begin; Two Rivers Trout Lake opens March 12

It’s time to go trout fishing again in Nebraska. Rainbow trout are being stocked in city ponds and lakes across the state in March to enhance fishing opportunities this spring, especially in urban areas.

A first for Brewer’s Bowling Center

Cherry County 4-H Robotics Team Qualifies for State Competition February 26!

The Cherry County 4-H “Badger Bots” FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Robotics team competed at the Regional Qualifier in Henderson February 5, 2022. Team members include Isaac Utecht, Cole Boes, Allen Ward, Duncan Mosner, Tilden Foster, Kaden Garwood, Tyler Harp, Jhett Jespersen, Kross Kasner, and Dawson Fleagle. Coaches are Andrew Utecht, Michelle Garwood, and James Ward.
