Coach Marcus Nelson said, “Both the girls and boys wrestled well for one of the tougher tournaments on our schedule. This was a good test to see where we are at, compared with some of the competition we won’t see for the rest of the year. The sixth grade boys basketball team played two challenging games in Springview on Saturday, January 3, 2026. The first game on the court was against Stuart. They worked hard and won 3423. Their second game was against Winner, and they had a close game going into halftime, but the sixth graders fought hard in the second half and won 23-12. Their next game will be in Bassett on January 10.

The Lady Wrestlers had a tough battle in Winnebago—one of the largest wrestling tournaments of the season. With no varsity medalist, each girl battled and had some tough matches. JV wrestler Mariana Azarcoya medaled 5th in her weight class. The Lady Badgers will head to Columbus on January 8.

The Badger Basketball team was looking for its 7th win of the season, and they did just that when they took control in the first half, leading 41-29 at halftime in the game against the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs.

The Basketball teams ended 2025 at the Chadron Holiday Tournament with both teams bringing home third place. The Lady Badgers took on the Class B Gering Lady Bulldogs for the first round games.
