Earning anything takes planning, dedication, and a little bit of work. Three young ladies, Ruthie Kaup, Ellison LaDeaux, and Lilybet Rolfe are working toward their Girl Scout Silver Award.

The String Beans are coming back to Valentine! The performance is Monday, July 24, at 6:00 p.m., at the Valentine High School Auditorium. This event is free to the public. A free will donation will be taken at the door.

Just because it’s a plan for you and the community, doesn’t mean that weather conditions can change that plan. Which was the case Thursday, July 13, 2023, when the Girl Scouts held their carnival to raise funds for a swing at Ecology Park, and it began to pour rain.

‘There was a time when the hospital would call and ask Dave if he was going to be around because they were doing surgery and may need blood,” said Joanne Nelsen, of her husband Dave who has given over 100 units of blood.

Join us in welcoming Running 4 Heroes to the beautiful Heart City! What began as a seven year old honoring the fallen by running a mile in their honor has blossomed into an incredible organization. Running 4 Heroes is now an organization consisting of several young people, their families and volunteers across the country who honor and support fallen first responders and those injured in the line of duty.
