    Salvation Army exceeds $7,000 goal with Christmas Kettle Campaign

    The Valentine Lions Club partners with The Salvation Army each year to raise money during the Christmas Kettle Campaign that runs from the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. The goal set for 2021 was $7,000 and thanks to 132 bell ringers along with many generous donors the goal was exceeded and $8,594 was raised.

    Cherry County Court Clerk Magistrate Kay Morrison to retire

    Cherry County Clerk Magistrate Kay Morrison, of Valentine, submitted her notice of retirement effective December 31, 2021, after just over 29 years of service to the Judicial Branch. Kay started working at Cherry County Court as a records clerk in 1992, became Clerk Magistrate in Rock County in 1998 and then took the Cherry County Clerk Magistrate position in November of 2002.
