    Dean Jacobs Adventures visit to Sparks makes an impression on college youth

    Imagine the opportunity to be around someone uplifting? Someone who can turn your daily living into something more? Someone who isn’t afraid to step out of the boundaries of everyday life and invite you to do the same? Would you? A group of young adults in the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity would normally have joined Dean Jacobs Adventure’s on a trip to the Amazon rainforest in South America - the home to the Amazon River, the longest river in the world - or to Africa where he has participated in the Dian Fossey Project working with the mountain gorillas.

    Interact Club finishes season strong!

    The Valentine Interact Club had a successful year culminating in a flurry of activity in April and May. The 24 high school members and officers were busy organizing their second Red Cross blood drive of this school year where they collected a total of 41 units from students and faculty.

    State Golf results

    The Badger Golf Team played at the Kearney Country Club May 25-26, 2021 in Class C NSAA Boys Golf Championship. “The top 15 schools in Class C qualified for state championship in Kearney and Valentine ended up 15 out of 75 Class C schools in Nebraska,” said Coach Devin Muirhead.

    VMS track team breaks two records this season

    The Valentine Middle School 4x800M Relay team broke a record for the second time this season. The team of Aubrey Benson, Aiden Hand, Christen Malard, Maile Patterson, and alternate Samantha Sprenger, pictured above, competed at the Junior High State Track Meet held in Gothenburg on May 15, 2021.

    Niobrara River Challenge begins at Niobrara National Scenic River

    Challenge yourself to explore the Niobrara River Valley to commemorate of the 30th anniversary of the Niobrara National Scenic River. Niobrara National Scenic River became a unit of the National Park Service on May 24, 1991. Join the Niobrara River Challenge by hiking, floating and seeing the film in the Visitor Center and earn a limited-edition bandana courtesy of Cherry County Tourism.
