Carl Raymond Lurz was born February 20, 1937 in Valentine and passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Great Plains Health, North Platte.
The third born child of seven, Carl attended Crookston Grade School until eighth grade, when he left school to assist on the family ranch. Carl lived a simple life-he enjoyed listening to music, as it wasn’t uncommon to hear him humming a tune. Not unlike any other bachelor, he enjoyed home cooked meals. He appreciated the change of seasons- especially the arrival of spring and renewal of life.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Ida (Schulz), brother, Melvin and sisters, Arlene and Viola.
Carl is survived by his brothers, Harold (Sandy) of Valentine, Gene of Lakeview, and sister, Ruby Luttrell (Doyle) of Tipton, IN along with four nieces, three nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and cousins
Graveside service for Carl Lurz was held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harmony Cemetery, north of Valentine. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was in charge of service arrangements.
