Donna Rae Goodwin went onto heaven on June 15, 2026. Donna, born to Marjorie and Eldon King on July 17, 1955, in Madison County, MT, was a woman of strength until the very end of her life on earth. Her life, marked by hard work, perseverance and 51-year, 348-day marriage to the love of her life, will be remembered by many. She graduated from Cody-Kilgore High School in 1973 and went to college throughout her adult life, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing along with two Masters Degrees. Donna was best known in the world of nursing, first becoming a nurse’s aide, then a Registered Nurse and then working her way into administration and organizational development.
Donna was highly intelligent and gifted at training others in leadership roles and mentored many during her career. She was primarily focused on home health care, bringing with her a passion and skill to set high standards for quality patient care.
In her personal life, Donna was a lover of gardening, being the owner of a particularly green thumb which she shared with her husband. Together, they designed a beautiful garden landscape. She was also gifted in the world of interior design, giving visions to her husband which he was able to bring to life through his craftsmanship.
Donna enjoyed basketball, especially Gonzaga and read voraciously. Her humor was quick and intelligent. Besides her husband, Donna loved her grandsons most in the world. Jackson and Zane brought her, her deepest joys and biggest laughs.
Though Donna’s life was not easy, she impacted many along her way and her memory will live on. She is survived by her husband, Jack Goodwin; daughter Kristin Freeze (Shane); grandsons, Jackson and Zane Freeze; sister, Kristy Wittkopf (Larry); nieces, Miranda Williams (Chris), Emily Wittkopf, and Delayne Wittkopf (Brandon); along with great-nieces and nephews and many cousins.
The family is deeply grateful for the care Donna received through Horizon Hospice.
