Charles E. Stoner, 89

Charles Edward Stoner was born February 6, 1933 in Cherry Co. to Rollie Edward and Mary Ann (Hoffman) Stoner. Charlie Stoner met Millie at a Quonset dance in Kilgore. In 1953 they married and started his army tour. In 1957 they moved home and started ranching and started their family. Where five boys were born, Randy, Dale, infant son, Jerry and Mark. In July of 1957 they moved 40 miles south of Nenzel to the Taylor Ranch. In 1968 they moved back to Kilgore and expanded the Stoner Ranch. Charlie also started his trucking business, hauling cattle. Charlie loved breaking horses and adopting wild mustangs and also broke them to ride. In his later year he enjoyed watching westerns, rodeos and Fox news. Charlie’s grandchildren and great grandchildren brought a lot of joy to his life. He was always interested in what the kids were doing.

Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, parents, an infant son, brothers, Lyle Thomas Stoner, Rollie Douglas Stoner, Harold Dean Stoner and sisters, Musa Irene Eagan and Millie Ruth Abbott.

He is survived by four sons Randy (Beth), Dale (Tammy), Jerry (Kay), and Mark (Dedra); grandchildren, Becky (Casey) Lancaster, Buffy (Tom) Cooper, Kari (Ira) Spanel, Heather (Jack) King, Miles (Emilee), Bobbie Jo (Ryan) Robinson, Shara (Trent) Ford, Cody, Tell (Emily Hollopeter), Kylee (Cord) Hesseltine, Tyce, Rachel Kime and Jake Stoner. Great Grandkids, Carson and Blake Lancaster, Cash and Luke Cooper, Easton, Elliot and Sunni Jo Spanel, JW, Owen and Mindee King, Briar & Baylor Stoner, Roslynn Robinson, Bentley Ford, TC and Brecken Ford, Millie Jo & Jubal Kime, Adaline and Wynn Hesseltine, Hallee and Talon Stoner. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Jim Risseeuw and sister-in-laws Arlene (Willie) Hoff, and Marsha Risseeuw, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in memory made to the Kilgore Cemetery or the Kilgore Fire Department. Graveside service for Charlie Stoner age 89 of Kilgore was held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the Kilgore Cemetery in Kilgore.

Mr. Stoner passed away on Thursday, February 10 at the Cherry Co. Hospital in Valentine. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine was entrusted with service arrangements.
