Darwin C. Grooms was born July 5, 1943 to Clyde and Virginia (Brown) Grooms in Valentine. He grew up and attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse in Sparks. He went to high school in Valentine.
He had one older sister, Joyce and two younger sisters, Sandra and Nancy.
His favorite things were horses, which he broke several when he was younger, western clothing, ice-cream, and fruit pies.
Darwin joined the Army from 1966 and served till 1968. He was a medic in the Korean War.
Darwin married Gloria Brooks on June 4, 1966. They had two daughters Loretta and Julie.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria, daughters, Loretta Grooms, Kearney, Julie Cooper, Australia. sisters, Joyce Cook, Rapid City, SD, Sandra Johnson, Douglas, WY, Nancy Bohman, North Platte, granddaughter Jessica, Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde, mother Virginia and his grandparents.
Funeral service for Darwin Grooms was held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine. Burial followed at the Sparks Cemetery in Sparks. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was in charge of service arrangements.
