Delores (Dee) M. Burgess, 90

Delores (Dee) M. Burgess, 90, passed away by the light of the full moon May 15,2022.

Delores was born in Atkinson, to Henry and Margie Dobrovolny and was one of 11 children.

She eloped with her best friend Darius and settled in Valentine after they married. They started their family and owned Burgess Trucking, hauling livestock. Later moving to North Platte and on to Las Vegas, NV.

Their son Rick Burgess of North Platte, granddaughters Emily Burgess of Omaha, and Danielle Remus of North Platte, Daughter Tonia Burgess-Kinghorn of Swan Valley, ID, granddaughters Brittany Burgess-Kinghorn, Brandee Kinghorn of Idaho Falls, ID and Victoria Kinghorn of Mesa, AZ, and her seven great grandchildren will miss her dearly.

After living and working many years for the State of Nevada, Delores decided to return to Nebraska after Darius passed. She lived in Valentine and North Platte continuing to work and kept very active in the American Legion. Always keeping herself busy way after retirement.

Delores spent the last several months in Arizona with her daughter and granddaughter Victoria and great grandchildren Sedona and Bradley. She taught them to crochet, play VR headset games, watched Boss Baby and Yellowstone, soaking up the warmth and regaining lost strength and health; being spunky and classy on her 90th birthday, March 23, 2022. May she rest in peace.
