Harry LeRoy Jackson was born August 5, 1937, to Andrew and Ella (Zeitner) Jackson. He attended school at Crookston and graduated from Valentine High School. He went on to complete four years of higher education at Chadron State College.
While at CSC, he met and married Phyllis Barber in 1959. They moved to Valentine where Harry worked on the family ranch with his dad, Andrew, and Uncle Henry. Harry and Phyllis raised nine children.
Harry enjoyed many years serving as a volunteer Reserve Deputy for the Cherry County Sheriff’s Department. He also enjoyed bowling and attending Classic Car Shows across the country. Sundays were spent at Big Alkali Lake waterskiing and enjoying time with family.
Whether it was traveling to see new places, or to meet up with relatives, Harry always enjoyed a road trip. He truly enjoyed a good, long conversation with many people.
