Mitchel Troy McIntyre (Mitch), 60, of Thedford, passed away on November 22, 2021, at Bergan Mercy in Omaha surrounded by his brothers.
Mitch was the youngest of three boys, born on September 5, 1961, to the late Lloyd Lyle McIntyre and Marlys Rae McIntyre (Barnason) at Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Mitch was raised in Thedford by his parents and the help of the community and graduated from Thedford High School in 1980. Following high school he spent time in Arkansas, California, Nebraska, and Arizona. He had many different occupations throughout his life including concrete mason, ranch hand, and printing press operator. However, he lived most of his life as a concrete mason in Tuscan, AZ but always considered the Sandhills home.
Mitch enjoyed fishing and hunting and rockin’ in a rocking chair. Upon returning to the Sandhills he could often be found on the lake in his canoe, fishing for the next “big one.” Throughout his life he enjoyed live music and was always game for a concert and would proudly dawn cut off Wranglers and a band t-shirt. Regardless of what he was doing he was never found without a Pall Mall cigarette.
He is survived by his son Dylan Lister-McIntyre, brothers Jim (Lynn) McIntyre, Todd (Karma) McIntyre, uncles Butch (Jan) Barnason, Frank (Joanne) Paynter, aunt Sharon (Tom) Jones, his nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Lyle and Marlys Rae McIntyre. His grandparents Lloyd McIntyre and Mona (Harold) Paynter, Larus C and Leta Barnason.
A come as you are celebration of life for Mitch’s family and friends will be held in Spring of 2022.
