Rodger W. Rhoades, long time resident of Show Low, AZ, passed away March 17, 2021. He was born August 9, 1940 in Valentine to Ralph W. Rhoades and Ada Genevieve (Jennie) Hamar Rhoades. He was the oldest of four children. Rodger enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after receiving his High School diploma and remained for six years.
Afterward he lived and worked in several locations as an industrial electrician. While employed at California State University, Long Beach for 10+years he completed his degree in Industrial Technology at age 60, teaching some at a tech school there. Upon retiring he moved to Arizona where he lived until his passing.
Rodger is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Melvin, and sister, Janet.
He is survived by his sweet heart of 27 years Mikell Rhoades, five children, daughter Lora Rhoades Pope and family, son Rodger Michael and family, daughter Kristy Yancey and family, daughter Lisa Sanders and family, son David Hofer and family, sister Clara Rhoades Paxton and family, 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Along with a huge family of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was loved much and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held later.
