Russel Darold Lurz, age 56, of Fremont died January 15, 2024. He was born February 19, 1967, in Valentine.
Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Eilean Lurz and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by wife, Carleen Naegele-Lurz, Fremont; son, Michael L. Lurz, South Dakota; stepsons, TJ (Brooke) Johnson, Nebraska, Carl Johnson, Iowa; three brothers, Walter (Sonja) Lurz, South Dakota, Lyle (Diane) Lurz, Nebraska, Gary Lurz, Kansas; sister, Peggy Turk, Kansas; uncles Ivan (Deane) Lurz, Oklahoma;Pam Lurz, California; Merle (Romona) Sharp, Nebraska; three grandsons, Santiago, Andrew, and Lincoln; three step-granddaughters and one step-great granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and step-nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.
