    The world has changed a lot from when I was growing up. Back in the day, opportunities for women graduating from high school included: banking, librarian, nursing, and becoming a teacher. There were a few students who were avant-garde and chose the National Park Service... sadly, people rolled their eyes.

    Badger golf results from Basset

    The Badger golf team traveled to Basset for their triangular, held Thursday, April 25, 2024. Valentine competed against Ainsworth and North Central and came away with a score of 182. North Central had 167, and Ainsworth a 195.

    Community Service project shines a light on autism

    Alivia Patterson and Cianna Colvin, seniors at VHS, created T-shirts for Autism Awareness as a community service project for American Government. Over the course of seven months, they were able to make all the VHS staff t-shirts by hand using an at home heat press.

    Four attend Northeast Nebraska Classic

    Four Badger track athletes traveled to Norfolk on April 24, 2024 to participate in the Northeast Nebraska Classic. Seniors Kinsey Buechle and Grant Springer; sophomores Isaac Cronin and Maeli Patterson competed against the top track and field athletes.

    MNNRD participates in Arbor Day activities

    MNNRD educated the fourth graders in Ainsworth Elementary School about Arbor Day and proper tree planting. Each student received a conservation tree on Arbor Day to take home and plant. In Valentine, Michelle Garwood and Wendy Murphy educated the fourth graders. Middle Niobrara NRD provided trees for all of the students to take home and plant.
