    4-H First Lego League Robotics earned fourth place trophy at first championships in Nebraska

    The Cherry County 4-H First Lego League Robotics team came home with a fourth place trophy in the robot performance category! This was out of 76 teams that gathered in Lincoln to compete in the First Lego league robotics championships of Nebraska. The youth had to program their robots to accomplish as many missions as possible in 2.5 minutes.

    Moore is new Executive Chamber Director

    The Board of Directors of the Valentine Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the addition of Jenny Moore as Executive Director. She joins the Chamber after long-term Director Dean Jacob’s resignation in late 2023.

    The American Legion family helped the Easter Bunny hide 320 bags of candy at Ecology Park, Sunday, March 31, 2024. With only a handful of youth attending the annual hunt, there was plenty of candy to go around! The park was divided into sections for older kids, and the little kids in the center, with candy hidden on playground equipment.

    Fire departments keep it under control

    There’s so many things to be grateful for - especially during a dry, windy March day. Four days this month, the Valentine Fire Department was on scene putting out fire. Valentine Fire Chief Terry Engles said, “Nothing severe, and that’s good. Hopefully the weather forecast is accurate.” He’s referring to the moisture that fell over the weekend to keep the dryness at bay, and to encourage things to green up.

    Third quarter VMS Badger Effort Awards

    The Badger Effort Award is based on the school's character education. Students who demonstrate Character In Action (CIA), responsibility, accountability, honesty, empathy, and respect were nominated by their classroom teachers and staff. Congratulations to the Valentine Middle School third quarter Badger Effort recipients!

    Buechle signs letter of intent!
