The Badgers traveled to Summerland - Clearwater, Ewing, Orchard, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, and fell with a score of 46-54. Scoring by quarter: Valentine - 9, 16, 13, 8 = 46 Summerland - 18, 12, 13, 11 = 54 Isaac Cronin was the lead scorer with 20; Dominic Beebout and Andon Olson each had 8; Trystan Beebout and Lex Larsen each with 5.

The State 4-H Indoor Archery Championship was held January 27, 2024 in Grand Island. Four youth from Cherry County competed this year! Congratulations to Mason Hamilton for placing sixth in the Cub Freestyle category. Also participating were Carson Hamilton, Brooke Brashears and Cam Brashears. Congratulations to Greg and Tammy Gass! They won the Outstanding Volunteer award from the Nebraska Association of County Extension Boards (NACEB) February 8, 2024 in Lincoln. They received this honor for leading the Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) program for high school youth since 1997 in Cherry County. Their countless hours have made this a once-in-a-lifetime experience that keeps teens connected to Extension and 4-H, and empowers them to be active in their communities.
