Wonderful smells wafted up from the Valentine City Park,Saturday, September 9, 2023, as grillmasters began their craft of BBQ for the win! There were three categories along with sides for the public to come and taste.

The VFW Post 5138 is the new charter of the Cub Scouts Pack 288 and it was great to be able to get the two together doing good in the community. A service project was recently done together repairing a flag pole in town and raising a new flag. The Cub Scouts were also taught flag etiquette. Appreciation goes to Don and Virginia Nelsen for donating the flag, halyard, paint and hooks. Appreciation also to the Valentine Fire Department for the use of their ladder.

The Cowboys showed resilience in Friday, September 1 game against the Arthur County Wolves, after being down by nearly 30 points. Coach Ford and the Cowboys fought back in the second half to lead by two with one minute left in the game, but were not able to stop the Arthur County offense. The final score was
