Welcoming PFC Dale Thompson home was clearly a patriotic celebration - from Omaha’s Eppley Field, until he arrived in Cherry County, led by the Nebraska State Patrol, Cherry County Sheriff, and followed by family, Patriot Guard Riders, and multitudes of first responders from Cody, Kilgore, and Valentine.

The Lick Tub Challenge at the Sandhills Ranch Expo in Bassett has given out top awards. This event is hosted by the NC RC&D and is the second year for the event at the Expo. The creativity is appreciated by the crowd and the judges. The rules? Find a new purpose for a used lick tub. No issue finding empty lick tubs and apparently not a shortage of creative ideas either.

In addition, they learned how to build relationships with students through engaging activities, practiced creating business plans and setting goals for ELO programming, and networked with other high school staff and after school professionals throughout the state of Nebraska who have similar interests and career goals.

It was one of the pun-iest productions put on by Missoula Children’s Theatre; the production company from Missoula, MT, who is celebrating their 50th year! The staff of Natalie Taylor and Ceci Garcia selected youth to appear in this year’s production of The Little Mermaid - but it’s not your typical story... Deep in the salty waters of the Sassafras Sea, there lived a Little Mermaid.

He was here for only a few weeks, but what an education the little feller got - not to mention all the people he met in his grand adventure. His name is Stanley. Stanley Lambchop. And Stanley has an interesting beginning himself. His brother Arthur noticed that Stanley had been flattened by an enormous bulletin board! He went on to become famous with the writing by Jeff Brown, and illustrations by Scott Nash. Flat Stanley was able to travel in an envelope due to his interesting size. And that’s the size that came to Twisted Willow Ranch earlier this year.
