Smith, Custer County • Jess Ramos, Cherry County • Dale Prickett, Garfield County • Joe Finney, Lincoln County • Mike Baxter, Brown County • Andrew Joseph Applegarth (Deceased), Sheridan County The 18th annual Nebraska Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony will be held June 10, 2023, at the 4-H Building at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine.

    Valentine Badgers Compete at 2023 NSAA State Track Meet

    Four members of the Valentine Badger Boys Track Team traveled to Omaha on May 19-20, to compete in the 2023 NSAA State Track Meet. Jack Lancaster competed in the Class C Boys 1600 Meter Run for the third time and finished in 17th place with a time of 4:44.86.

    Cody-Kilgore athletes have great showing at 2023 NSAA State Track Meet

    Cody-Kilgore qualified three athletes in five events for the 2023 NSAA State Track Meet held in Omaha on May 19-20, and brought home four medals. Senior Utre Noreikaite started off for Cody-Kilgore with the Class D Girls Discus on Friday morning, May 19.

    Recognizing our EMS squad during EMS week, May 21-27!

    They’re a busy group for sure! With training, continuing education, working, going on runs, and most recently, helping with a fund raiser, which is where they were available to share information on what they have been doing, and thoughts on where EMTs could wind up.

    Bancroft and Battershaw VHS and MPCC pioneers!

    They’re pioneers! Mekallyn Bancroft and Taylor Battershaw are the first two individuals who have graduated from Mid Plains Community College while still seniors at Valentine High School. They used the Valentine Foundation to help with their dual credit courses, and will enter college this autumn as junior students.

    4-H Virtual Companion Animal Challenge

    The Nebraska State 4-H Virtual Companion Animal Challenge offers a variety of 4-H contests that don’t require live animals, including a demonstration, essay, art, and photography contests, as well as cat trivia, and dog trivia.
