Welcome Keiko Elizabeth Black Bear! She is the 2022 New Year’s baby, born to Melissa White Horse of Mission, SD, and Benjamin Black Bear IV of Rosebud, SD. Keiko was named after her aunt, and was born January 4, 2022, at Cherry County Hospital.

If you hadn’t noticed, Valentine Chamber of Commerce’s Dean Jacobs has been all over Mother Nature to get some ice on Merritt Reservoir for their annual 2022 Cork Thornton Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament.

Monday, December 20, the Badgers hosted West Holt and lost with a score of 25-53. Scoring by quarters: Valentine - 5, 10, 8, 2 = 25 West Holt - 10, 19, 8, 16 = 53 Stats weren’t available for this game as of press time.

The Lady Badgers took second place at the Holiday Tournament held in Chadron December 28- 29, 2021. Valentine Wrestling Club had three members travel to Pueblo, CO, to compete in The Who’s Bad Colorado National Wrestling Tournament. Parker Chavez brought home first place; Deklin Titus, second place; and Layf Skadberg, fourth place.
