    Valentine 10U teams took first and third

    The Valentine Minors Red and White teams traveled to Burke July 7-9, 2025 to play in the end of the season tournament. Valentine 10U Red entered the tournament ranked second and Valentine 10U White was third.

    Valentine 12U majors get fifth

    The Valentine Majors got fifth place in the Rosebud Little League. The team traveled to Gregory June 30, 2025 to play Winner Gold for the first round of the tournament.

    Storyteller and musician Chris Sayre is coming to Valentine, as part of the Nebraska Star Party Thursday, July 24, 2025. Chris Sayre will present programs at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Niobrara National Scenic River Visitor Center, 214 West Highway 20.

    Step into the Darkness is the theme for the 32nd annual Nebraska Star Party which will be held July 20-25, at Merritt Reservoir’s Snake Arm, and Wednesday, July 23 at the Valentine High School. Of course, weather permitting, Friday, July 25 is the Public Star Party, from 9:00 p.m. until midnight.

    For all the runners out there... or walkers, or stroller pushers...for those who are on the move, Mark Gudgle, formerly of Valentine, has begun a new race, the inaugural Valentine Marathon, which encourages people of all abilities and ages to participate in this Boston Marathon qualifer, right here in Valentine! The date is Saturday, August 2, 2025, and people will compete on the Cowboy Trail.
