    Let it snow!

    Can we rejoice on the snowfall we’ve finally received?! Moisture desperately needed?! Pictured above is a long ago snowfall covering the Niobrara River Valley. What snow we did get this past Sunday, November 24, 2024 was .6 inches, which contained .03 inches of water.

    Remembering Edward Day Cohota

    Most local residents are aware of the story of Edward Day Cohota (est. 1841-1935), a Chinese American man who fought in the Civil War, served 30 years in the U.S. Army, married, and then made a life in Valentine, NE, and Hot Springs, SD. He is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine.

    Springer received the Golden Apple award
