Thedford Volunteer Rescue Squad is proud to announce the installation of a Stryker Power Load system in one of the department’s ambulances. Of the two ambulance’s they have, one is already equipped with a powerload and has proven to be a great asset.

Valentine Police Chief Dana Miller said, “We’ve joined a long list of SWAT team calls across the state.” She’s referring to the active shooter hoax that took place Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Valentine High School and said, “The call came in about 9:22 a.m., I was on an ambulance call before that...My understanding was it was someone pretending to be a male student - it could have been anybody; the male was reporting a shooting at the high school.” Valentine Community School’s Superintendent Mike Halley said, “On March 2, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Valentine Police Department was contacted with a report of an active shooter at Valentine High School. Chief Miller contacted VHS and the Standard Response Protocol was activated.

The Cody-Kilgore eSports team on Friday, February 3, 2023, captured the school’s first eSports state championship at York College in York. To be specific, the CK Gamers won the Division 4 Winter Season State Championship in Mario Kart.

The Badgers ended their season Tuesday, February 21, 2023, against the Ogallala Indians. The team played hard all season long and came away with a 5-16 record. They won over Mitchell, and lost to Ogallala in subdistricts. The Cowboys season came to an end after a close game against the Crawford Rams. The final score was 48-49, the Cowboys Finished their season 8-12.
