    Cherry County 4-H Livestock Education Day

    Theannual4-Hlivestockjudging clinic and competition was held May 29, 2025, at the Cherry County Fairgrounds. Seth Grunhaupt was the head clinician/judge, assisted by Craig O’Kief, Andy Dawson, and Blair Tenhouse.

    Area Boys and Girls State Citizens

    Girls and Boys State is a week-long event where high school juniors learn and focus on different parts of American Government and politics. These programs help teach leadership and citizenship all while creating a positive environment. These events are sponsored by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary.

    Valentine, NE – The Cherry County Hospital Foundation proudlyhostedits33rdAnnualGolf Tournament on Thursday, June 12, at the beautiful Frederick Peak Golf Course. The event brought together community members, local businesses, and corporate partners for a day of friendly competition, all in support of an important cause.

    The Missoula Children’s Theatre was here last week and had a wonderful cast who shared their rendition of the Wizard of Oz! Delightful colors, lights, song and dance, the youth did a great job of performing, Friday, June 27, 2025.

    Welcome back VHS Alumni

    Welcome back VHS Alumni! The Class of 1975 is celebrating 50 years, and there is a weekend full of events for everyone! Friday, June 27, the individual classes will gather. Saturday, June 28, the Alumni Golf Tournament will be held at Frederick Peak Golf Club starting at 9:00 a.m., contact Brad Arnold at 402-322-0786 for information.

    American Legion Post 90s busy week

    The Valentine American Legion Post 90 Baseball team was very busy this last week. On Monday, June 16, the Seniors went up against the PVC Chadron Post 12 Seniors and lost 4-12. The next night, the evening started out with a win from the Juniors against the Tri-County Titan Juniors, 10-2. The Seniors were scheduled to play after, but because of the storm, the game was canceled. Wednesday the 18th, both the Juniors and Seniors played against the Winner/Colome Legion team. The Juniors lost 7-23 and the Seniors lost 0-13.
