    Badgers compete at West Holt Invite

    The Valentine Badgers competed at the West Holt Invitational, Thursday, April 24, 2025. Individual boys results are as follows: 100 Meter Dash - fourth place, Dominic Beebout, 11.69; sixth place, Trystan Beebout, 12.

    Bike Share now has e-bikes

    The non-profit Valentine Bike Share has opened back up for its sixth season! This year, there are two e-bikes available for checkouts and we are currently fundraising to replace all of the Classic Bikes with e-bikes.     Old West Days Melodrama - did good conquer evil?

    Hey partner, here’s hoping you had a chance to check out all of the activities going on for Old West Days over the weekend of April 25-27, 2025. If you didn’t here’s what Committee Member Yvonne Hollenbeck said of the event, “It was a huge success. The Melodrama kicked it off in fine fashion with a great crowd of attendees on Thursday night.”

    Niobrara River inspires young artists, VHS students embrace plein air painting

    The scenic wonders of the Niobrara River recently became an outdoor studio for art students from Valentine High School. Embarking on a day trip, the students visited notable landmarks such as the Norden Chute, Rocky Ford, Smith Falls, and Fort Niobrara. Their mission for the day: to absorb the sights and translate their impressions into watercolor paintings created directly in nature – a practice known as plein air.

    Bassett Invite results for Cody-Kilgore

    The highlight of the day came when CK freshman Aubryanna Schmit broke the previous CK girls shot put record of 35’ 5” set by Urte Noreikaite, an exchange student from Lithuania that spent the year at CK in 2023. Schmit’s toss of 36’ 10.5” broke the previous record, though Noreikaite still holds the CK discus record of 126’ 9” also set in 2023.

    Ainsworth Invite results for CK

    Rachel Farley ran the 60 meter hurdles and tripped... resulting in 13th and no medal. Then she took on the 300 meter hurdles for the first time and did excellent! She ran them in 55.77 and received the sixth place medal. Coaches are looking forward to watching Rachel compete and get better at 300 meter hurdles.
