    Cody-Kilgore Unified Schools break ground for new elementary school in Cody

    On a windy Thursday morning, Cody-Kilgore students and faculty donned hard hats, and lined up for the ground breaking ceremony for their new elementary school in Cody. September 12, 2024, was another step closer to the new school that has a preliminary scheduled completion date of May 2025.

    Dr. Anderson receives AGD Fellowship distinction

    Valentine – Dr. Kelly Anderson, owner/dentist at Sandhills Family Dental, received her Fellowship Distinction with the Academy of General Dentistry, and was recognized at a ceremony in Minneapolis, MN July 20, 2024.

    Tourism to Niobrara National Scenic River contributes $8 million to local economy

    Valentine, NE – A new National Park Service report shows that 80,000 visitors to Niobrara National Scenic River in 2023 spent $8 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 111 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $9.4 million.

    Lady Badgers tie for third place

    Out of 11 schools, the Lady Badgers tied for third place at the West Holt Invite held Thursday, September 5, 2024. Medaling for the Lady Badgers was Tierney Miller in fourth place with 93; and Rylee Wackler in 11th place, with 109.

    Broncos stampede in Cherry County

    The Cody-Kilgore Cowboys kicked off the 2024 season Friday, August 30, at Cody Athletic Park, when the Stuart Broncos stampeded into western Cherry County. The contest featured a six-man top-10 tilt with the No. 4 rated Broncos against the No. 8 rated Cowboys.

    Badgers season opener against O’Neill 20-28

    Friday, August 30, the Badgers began their regular football season against O’Neill at O’Neill. They lost with a score of 20-28 Scoring by quarters: Valentine - 8, 6, 0, 6 = 20 O’Neill - 7, 7, 14, 0 = 28 The first TD of the season beolonged to the Badgers with a four yard pass, and two point conversion. O’Neill would answer that with a 29 yard TD pass and good PAT for an 8-7 Badger lead.
