Niobrara Valley Vineyards had their grand opening and 10th anniversary July 19-20, 2024 to introduce their new event facility south of Nenzel. Both days were full of ceremonies and activities for everyone to enjoy.

The American Hiking Society (AHS) volunteered a week of their time to work on the Fort Falls Trail at Fort Niobrara NWR and helped with installation of two benches on the CCC Fire Tower Trail at Valentine NWR. Seven volunteers spent four long days in the sun clearing vegetation, rerouting the trail to prevent erosion, placing logs in areas to slow erosion, and putting dirt in areas that did have erosion.

August 1, 2024,Ainsworth — Weather permitting, work will begin September 3 on the Minnechaduza Creek Bridge replacement project, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. General Excavating, LLC of Lincoln is the prime contractor for the project.
