The highs and lows of the month were scattered from -9 , February 17, to a record breaking high of 70 degrees, Monday, February 26, breaking the old record of 68 degrees set in 1932.
Bomgaars donates to Cherry County Hospital’s Oncology Department

Valentine, NE – On November 5, 2023, Bomgaars held a night of festive and fun shopping just for ladies. Bomgaars joined with Cherry County Hospital to raise awareness of women’shealthissuesandpassed along a 20 percent discount for the women in attendance from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A donation of the evening’s total sales was pledged back to the Oncology Department at Cherry County Hospital.
Badgers season ends with 10-11 record

The Badgers traveled to Summerland - Clearwater, Ewing, Orchard, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, and fell with a score of 46-54. Scoring by quarter: Valentine - 9, 16, 13, 8 = 46 Summerland - 18, 12, 13, 11 = 54 Isaac Cronin was the lead scorer with 20; Dominic Beebout and Andon Olson each had 8; Trystan Beebout and Lex Larsen each with 5.
State 4-H Indoor Archery Championship results

The State 4-H Indoor Archery Championship was held January 27, 2024 in Grand Island. Four youth from Cherry County competed this year! Congratulations to Mason Hamilton for placing sixth in the Cub Freestyle category. Also participating were Carson Hamilton, Brooke Brashears and Cam Brashears.
